Ladies and gentlemen, the hour is near! Target’s fall designer collection drops on September 25, so if you still have FOMO not to grab a Christopher John Rogers piece from the Designer Dress line in May, I highly recommend you familiarize yourself with the designer crop of this series so you know exactly what you want before it sells out.
Please welcome Sandy Liang, Nili Lotan, Rachel Comey and Victor Glemaud on stage, who are all tasked with putting their designer touches on affordable Target basics for us this fall. Think of Victor Glemaud who offers striking colors and patterns on all the hottest knits of the season. The entire collection can be viewed to browse (but not buy!) On the Target site right now, with everything offered in sizes XXS-4X. While I appreciate Target for photographing the range on a variety of models to give buyers a sense of size and fit, I still find seeing things on a real person help the most. Let me know with the review you’ve been waiting for!
Below, I share my thoughts on a few pieces from each designer‘s collection. I do a true size 10 and have ranged from medium to large in the collection depending on the figure, so read on for my honest review and get ready to fill your cart on September 25th. Target, you’ve done it again!

All of you, I love that damn dress. Seriously! I saw it in the promo photos with a white blouse underneath, so when mine arrived in size medium I did just that. Not only did I receive compliments all day long, but I felt extremely comfortable in the flowing but flattering figure.
If you’ve been wearing a nap dress all summer, I can’t help but think it’s the perfect piece to help you transition into fall. I wore it with sandals on a particularly hot day, but I can’t wait to wear this baby with tall black boots whenever it gets cold. Definitely a collection favorite!
Call me boring, but I knew right away that I wanted this Nili Lotan knit above all else. A luxurious half-zip can be hard to find and this one only costs $ 40! It also looks like my nonexistent sailor boyfriend left it in my apartment, which is an aesthetic that I’m very much in favor of. I wore it here in size large with these straight pants from the Sandy Liang range. I certainly could have taken the medium and still had that oversized look, but a little more comfortable is A-OK in my book.
I also took the trench coat for a ride, but don’t mind the folds as it was very stuck in my tote bag before I put it on. It’s definitely a piece worth hanging up if you want to rock that whole ‘high minimalist run’ street style look. And honestly, who doesn’t? In this one, the medium fits perfectly even when layered over my chunky knit.
From Rachel Comey, I knew right away that I needed this water marbled dress. Only, to my surprise, he is not a dress is a two-piece set! The pencil skirt and turtleneck are definitely parted and my initial disappointment turned to pleasure when I realized that meant I could mix and match them with the rest of my wardrobe. I paired the skirt with the aforementioned Nili Lotan chunky navy sweater on one occasion and honestly loved the casual touch.
Now for the details: I’m a size 10 and have a medium turtleneck, but since I’m a G cup, I think the big one would have been even better. As for the skirt – which is super stretchy with no zippers or buttons – the medium did the job, but you should know that the underlay is mini length, so it doesn’t go all the way down.
Finally, do not judge me for choosing something black and white when the entire Victor Glemaud range is full of colors. I like what I like! And I really like this polka-dot tank top and this matching cardigan, which I once again styled with my Sandy Liang Trousers. If I had received the matching knit skirt, you think I would have worn the polka dots from head to toe!
I had both pieces in a medium and they fit like a glove. The top is full length so I turned it over for a shorter look to better flatter my short torso. I love how the cardi is too laid back – it’s very ‘lunchtime ladies’ with an eclectic twist, and I totally agree.
