Carrier and Company Interiors and Loloi Rugs announced the first Carrier and Company x Loloi collection, launching in August 2021 at the Las Vegas Market and the High Point Market in October. The husband and wife team, Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller, directors of acclaimed New York-based design firm Carrier and Company are known for creating cosmopolitan, bespoke environments, and designed with a love of layering patterns and textures. The new collection reflects that varied pattern, color, scale and spirit that define their work. They are especially excited to be partnering with another family business to bring their vision to life.
âJesse and Mara are known for bringing elegance and spaciousness to all of their designs – a quality that we embrace with this new collection,â said Cyrus Loloi, Director of Loloi. âWe’re thrilled with how this collection has come together, offering a timeless appeal, but also instantly of the moment. We believe that the Carrier and Company x Loloi collection will be a must-have line for today’s interiors.
âAfter meeting Amir [Loloi], Cyrus and Stephen – and seeing how thoughtful they approached their business, we knew we wanted to join the Loloi family! Their commitment to quality and craftsmanship made them an ideal partner when designing our first carpet collection, âsays Carrier and Miller.
The Carrier and Company x Loloi collection was born from the idea of ââcombining science with the magic of transformation. Thanks to interior design studio Carrier, spaces are transformed with a striking use of color and scale, and an intrepid layering of pattern and texture that is always balanced with an equal dose of simplicity and serenity. These same design principles have been applied to a variety of textiles to create a beautiful assortment of three hand-knotted rug collections featuring 18 styles, created to transform a room.
âWhen designing a space, a rug is one of the first pieces we select. It is a central element of the canvas which sets the tone for the entire space, âcomments Carrier. âOur work covers the spectrum of design, from traditional to modern, adapted to the bohemian. We were inspired by this dichotomy to create this new collection of rugs with Loloi.
Each new rug is designed for use in both formal and casual interiors, with patterns that can easily be used together in a single pattern and in a range of interior styles.
The Carrier and Company x Loloi collection is available in a variety of construction techniques, colourways and tactility, and ranges in size from 2’x3 ‘to 11.6’x15’, including runners. As part of Loloi’s ongoing partnership with GoodWeave, all styles of the collaboration are GoodWeave certified, ensuring that there are no children, forced labor or bondage in the production process.
Carrier and Company carpet collection
The following collections will debut for the launch of Carrier and Company x Loloi:
Inspired by Swedish weavings, the Harrison collection is a playful selection of high / low pile, where patterns are expressed through the weaves. Linear patterns help create order and clarity in a room, and the repeating patterns create pleasant energy. The shag / high pile patterns are open and fresh, the basket weave is a rich compliment, while the irregular patterned wool rug is of a unique scale and surprisingly modern. The rugs include a hint of viscose, adding shine and softening the linear pattern.
Bold and sophisticated, the Bond collection uses oversized patterns to create captivating tonal rugs. Show the stop but not the stage flight, organic patterns and varied colors provide the comfort of informality, while rich texture and plant-inspired colors create a sense of opulence. Linen mixed with wool pile creates a variety of colors.
The Milton collection uses a band detail to express the rich, plush velvet. The addition of jute to wool and cotton rugs creates a luxurious density that can be both seen and felt. Whether it’s a simple border detail, a graphic plaid, or an oversized rhombus that evokes Moroccan style, the collection offers different levels of formality. The saturated color fields are surprisingly modern.
The collection will premiere in Las Vegas and at the High Point in October at the Loloi showrooms, located at Las Vegas Market, Building B, Suite # 480 and IHFC, D320 respectively.
