The 58-year-old fashion designer posted a snap on Instagram after the procedure last month, with his entire head wrapped in gauze and drainage bags with fluid and blood on either side of his ears.
Jacobs explained that he never hesitated to share the image as he had always been transparent about his cosmetic procedures, recalling how he told people about his hair transplant after wearing a baseball cap at the Met Gala after-party in 2010.
He told Vogue magazine: âPeople were amused and amazed that I answered. But, honestly, what’s the difference? I don’t even see it as an effort to be transparent.
“I do what I normally do, which is live my life and share it with anyone who is interested.”

“I don’t want to live my life with shame, you know? I find that I do it by being open, transparent and honest about things. Yes, I am conceited. I find that there is no shame. to be conceited. “
The designer revealed that he decided to have a facelift after deciding that Botox and fillers were no longer effective and he is baffled by the feeling of shame associated with the procedure.
âYou know, we all have filters on our phones. We retouch and filter all of our photos. That’s the world we live in,â Jacobs said.
“It’s like this thing that we do because the audience wants it, but the audience wants it because we do it. So it’s this funny little circle.”
He noted that he finds it “crazy” when other stars try to pretend they haven’t had a cosmetic procedure.
“And they say, ‘Oh, that’s olive oil, I’m bathing in seltzer water.’ It’s like, come on. Like all these things are true, but it doesn’t is not why your neck is tight. “
