The limited edition XDiavel Nera is produced in partnership with Italian furniture and interior design house Poltrona Frau. The bike came into public presence in the seventh episode of the Ducati World Premiere web series. The Ducati XDiavel Nera 2022 will be produced in a numbered edition limited to 500 copies. A motorcycle company collaborating with an interior design studio seems like a bit of a stretch.

Ducati works with Poltrona Frau interiors in the Motion Business Unit. They focus on leather interiors for automotive, aero and rail vehicles, which makes sense. The seat of the XDiavel Nera is made from a handcrafted soft natural leather called Pelle Frau. Poltrona Frau says the material undergoes a specific tanning process to provide breathability, as well as resistance to rubbing and staining. The seats are additionally engraved with an X pattern. All 500 XDiavel models will come with an exclusive Pelle Frau key ring and briefcase.

Typical Ducati engine and performance

Ducati fitted the XDiavel Nera with a 1,262cc Testastretta DVT engine capable of producing 160 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 93.67 lb-ft of torque. These powers are associated with a six-speed manual transmission with slipper clutch. In addition, two driving modes are available. Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control System, Cruise Control and Ducati Power Launch are other factors built into the bike to increase performance. A combination of tubular steel trellis frame, front and rear suspension and chassis dimensions bring the agility and controllability of the front axle, delivering superior handling.

The XDiavel limited special edition features a much more sophisticated saddle in a sportier red color. The color of the seat matches the red of the brake calipers. The bike is available in five colors: Siam Red, Steel Blue, Cemento, India and Selva. The bike comes with a matching key fob and a matching leather briefcase, depending on the color selection. The bike saddle gets several engraved X logos to make it look intimidating.

The bike’s feature list is intact, as it comes with the same electronics package as the standard XDiavel, such as full LED with a daytime running light system and a 3.5-inch TFT display. The black-on-black livery is highlighted by Ducati Red cylinder head covers and brake calipers, paired with gloss black painted machine-forged rims. Ducati offers a dedicated helmet in a similar black-on-black style. In addition, there is a belt drive and a 240mm wide rear tire.

The limited edition Ducati XDiavel Nera is now open for orders. The bike is expected to hit dealerships in March. The Nera is priced at $29,795, a higher price than the XDiavel ($25,595), XDiavel Dark ($20,895), and XDiavel Black Star ($25,995). The Nera was unveiled at the first of three Ducati World Premiere online presentations. While the craftsmanship of a finely crafted leather seat is respectable, the remaining presentations should be even more exciting and reveal more about the Nera.

The partnership between motorcycle manufacturer Ducati and Italian furniture designer Poltrona Frau has resulted in a limited edition XDiavel Nera for 2022. The bike is ready to hit the markets and is open for reservations. As this is a limited edition bike, only 500 will be made. Bikers are rushing to the nearest dealerships to get their hands on the fantastic bike. Updated features of the XDiavel Nera include a leather seat, Poltrona Frau input and many other performance upgrades from Ducati. The partnership can be said to have benefited both companies, as the bike is ready to hit the streets.
