KOCHI: Although an engineering graduate, Hridya Vipin has always had a soft spot for fashion. A mother of three-year-old twins, Hridya was also on the lookout for stylish, skin-friendly clothes for children. She launched her children’s clothing brand Seed. Now Hridya is where many new mothers go for comfortable and affordable clothes for their little ones.

It all started when Hridya began to be applauded for the dresses she had designed for her children. “Earlier, I ran a women’s boutique. When I became a mother, I wanted to design clothes for my children at the sewing unit I have in Kesavadasapuram. I make comfortable, casual clothes for kids that most mothers love to personalize, ”she says.

Its use of cotton and linen makes the clothes very comfortable. She thinks cotton-based fabrics, including Mulmul, are suitable for our climate “Children are always prone to skin problems and rashes. Cotton and linen are skin-friendly, cotton pillowcase dresses are ideal for ages one to three because they can be used for three long years and are very comfortable. I want to make these clothes so comfortable for the kids that they love to wear them. I realized that baby girls love prints, patterns, embellishments and embroidery, ”she says.

His School From Home series is an effort to lighten the mood of children trapped at home during the pandemic. “The dresses are adapted to the pockets. As a parent, I know how the pandemic has affected us financially. So the series has been made extremely affordable for all parents, she says. Hridya expects to release her Navarathri children’s collections soon, which include jumpsuits designed by Kutch.
