Expansion in Asia for Stagwell
November 29, 2021
The Stagwell Group, owner of the Harris and Harris Poll brands, opened a regional headquarters in Singapore, where it appointed Randy Duax as Managing Director, Asia-Pacific.
Founded in 2015 by Mark Penn, co-founder of research and analysis consultancy Penn Schoen Berland, the holding company Stagwell has a portfolio of marketing services companies that includes Harris Insights & Analytics; Nielsen’s Mobile Insights Survey and Total Communications Survey, now known as HarrisX; and Nielsen’s former entertainment research subsidiary, NRG. Penn was previously President and CEO of MDC Partners – which included more than 50 companies, including a number of market research, customer marketing, and data and analytics specialists. In August, MDC Partners merged with Stagwell Group and the group now operates under the Stagwell brand.
Duax (pictured), who will lead the new office from next January, is currently SVP, Executive Talent at Stagwell. He joined the group in 2016 from WPP, where he was most recently responsible for recruiting senior executives within the group in Asia-Pacific and overseeing teams in Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney and Tokyo. Previously, he was Managing Director of New York’s executive search firm Koller Search Partners.
In his new role, Duax will report to Penn and work to connect Stagwell’s marketing talent and digital services to client partners in Singapore and across the Asia-Pacific region. He will work with Stagwell’s multiple agencies in the region and its roster of global subsidiaries, including Beyond Media Group and Metric Design Studio. Penn comments on the news: âSingapore is the right location for Stagwell’s regional headquarters and I am delighted with the growth of our network throughout Asia Pacific. Randy’s experience and his long term commitments in Singapore will serve our network well â.
