Amaravati: the French designer’s daughter dies at 100 | Amaravati News

AMARAVATI: The daughter of the creator of the national flag Pingali VenkaiahGhantasala Seethamahalakshmi, died in Macherla in Palnadu district. She was 100 years old.
Seethamahalakshmi had been suffering from age-related illnesses for a few years. She lived with her son GV Narasimha Rao in the Priyadarshini colony in Macherla.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had congratulated Seethamahalakshmi as part of the national flag centenary celebrations in March 2021 and presented a check for Rs75 lakh as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
The Union government wanted to congratulate Seethamahalakshmi at a grand ceremony in New Delhi on August 2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union ministers were expected to attend the program. His disappearance left the family in shock.
The Chief Minister expressed his sadness over Seethamahalakshmi’s death and conveyed his condolences to family members. The Chief Minister headed the District Collector L Sivasankar conduct the final rites of Seethamahalakshmi with state honors.
Local legislator and government whip Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddydistrict collector Sivasankar paid his respects and will attend the funeral on Friday.
