Meta-owned WhatsApp on Monday announced an incubator program in India that will select 10 organizations and help them create digital solutions to address critical health issues.
Called the WhatsApp Incubator Program (WIP), the initiative aims to facilitate positive and measurable health outcomes at scale by leveraging the WhatsApp Business Platform.

âDuring the pandemic, we have seen several innovative use cases of the WhatsApp business platform by government organizations, civic actors, city governments and many other NGOs large and small in all sectors and locationsâ said Abhijit Bose, director of WhatsApp India.
“We hope that the WhatsApp Incubator program will bring more innovative and unique solutions that will help meet India’s health needs,” he said in a statement.
The 10 selected organizations will be guided through a design thinking process to deepen the understanding and applicability of their WhatsApp-based solution.
The selected organizations will also benefit from technical support in order to design, prototype and pilot their healthcare use cases.
The company said participating organizations have the opportunity to be mentored by industry experts, access ecosystems on the ground, receive support with advice on impact measurement and a chance. network with funders to develop their use cases.
The program, for which applications are open until December 24, is administered by Quicksand Design Studio, WhatsApp said.
