The Fiji Development Bank has disbursed $62 million to micro, small and medium enterprises under the COVID-19 Recovery Credit Guarantee Scheme over the past eight months.

FDB Managing Director Saud Minam said the bank was actively participating in the program and more than 30 percent of the $200 million had flowed directly into the economy.

“We have close to 4700 customers on this product and we’ve donated around $61-62 million, but we still have requests that we’re processing, so we’ll continue to work on this piece. We still have a long way to go, but we will continue to support these apps. »

The program was announced by the government last year for MSMEs and large enterprises to help them meet their financial needs and recover from economic losses.
